Top Party Trends of 2023
Live performers that move throughout the space are all the rage, especially at fun, corporate and non-profit events. Some entertainment, like caricaturists or sketch artists, can provide a special momento for guests to take home. Consider hiring aerial performers or acrobats to add that wow factor to your entertainment! A local favorite of ours is Circus Picnic, a group of performers that seem to be able to do just about anything we can dream up!
Outdoor areas are perfect for setting up giant lawn games like Giant Jenga, Giant Connect Four or Giant Corn Hole. Even adults enjoy inflatable games like Leaps ‘n Bounds or Free Fall. A lot of events are also utilizing virtual reality and arcade games for indoor entertainment.
Whether it is utilizing digital invitations or locally sourced foods, making making sustainable choices is a high priority for party planners this year. There has been a major comeback in real plates and cloth napkins both in an effort to ditch the disposables for the sake of reducing waste as well as adding a more formal, elegant feel to the event.
Think your classic charcuterie board taken up a notch. Spread a piece of butcher paper out on the table and just start piling on the delicious bites. Typical ingredients include cheese, cured meats, olives, nuts and dried fruit. But we are seeing the addition of pickled vegetables, amazing dips and unique fruits like blood oranges that take your board from the usual to something insta-worthy. Check out this gallery by local Austin favorite, Spread & Co. for more inspiration.
Balloons are a classic party decoration, but you wouldn’t believe some of the installations we’ve been seeing. There are stunning monochromatic displays with balloons of all different sizes so artfully arranged, or there are colorful spectacles that really draw the eye. Get a professional like ATX Bubbles to create a work of art and you’ll have the perfect entry to draw your guests in, or an amazing backdrop for their photos.
