How much does it cost to rent tables in Chattanooga?
Tables come first because everything downstream is counted from them. Linens are ordered per table, place settings per seat, and the floor plan will not draw itself until both are fixed.
A 60-inch round seats 8 with formal place settings, or 10 at a casual buffet. The difference is the glassware: a formal cover takes 3 glasses per guest where a casual one takes 2, and those glasses occupy the tabletop. At 150 guests that is 19 rounds for a seated dinner and 15 for a buffet.

Cocktail tables follow the format of the event. At a standing reception, 1 for every 4 or 5 guests. Once there is a seated meal, 1 per 10.
Before you order any of it, find out what the room holds. A downtown hotel or museum space will very likely have tables in it already. A riverside lawn or a warehouse room will not.

How much does it cost to rent chairs in Chattanooga?
The count is 1 per guest, plus a few extra for the head table and the crew. Nobody gets that wrong. What takes thought is which chair.
- Folding chairs. Folding chairs usually fall into two groups: plain plastic chairs or resin folding (AKA garden chairs). Plastic chairs do not usually come with padding, so they’re best for short ceremonies or casual events. Resin folding chairs usually come with padding or can have seating pads added onto the order, so they’re a nice upgrade if your guests will be sitting longer.
- Chiavari and luxury chairs. These are a more formal choice than folding chairs, and they typically come in gold, silver, white, black or wood. Because they look more finished, you can leave covers and sashes off the order. Chiavari chairs are padded, which is much more comfortable if your guests will be sitting all evening.
The kind of chair you should choose depends on how long your guests will be sitting. If they’ll be sitting for more than 30 minutes or so, we recommend choosing something with padding, like a resin folding chair or a garden chair. If the event is more casual and guests are expected to be up and down, then a folding chair without padding is probably fine. And keep in mind for more formal events, it can be well worth it to rent chiavari chairs to quickly upgrade the look of the room.

How much does it cost to rent linens in Chattanooga?
The ratio is 1 per table, plus a napkin per guest for a seated meal. Sizing repays getting right the first time, and our guide to what size tablecloth you need pairs every cloth to every table.
The headline pairings: a 120-inch cloth takes a 60-inch round to the floor, a 108 stops at lap height, and a 6-foot banquet table needs a 90 by 132 rectangular linen to reach the floor.
Highboys catch people out. A cocktail table needs its own cloth, and a 30-inch highboy and a 30-inch low table take different drops despite having the same top, so quote the vendor a height as well as a diameter.
Napkins are priced by the piece, so they track your headcount while the cloths track your tables. Chair covers pull a mismatched set of seating together, and they soften a warehouse room that has nothing soft in it.
The laundry is not your problem either. Everything goes back dirty.

How much does it cost to rent bar and glassware in Chattanooga?
Ask the venue, in writing, what the bar situation is. A downtown hotel usually has one built in. A lawn on the river has nothing, including power, and that answer decides whether you are renting the bar itself or only what goes on top of it.
For volume, plan 1 drink per guest per hour. A 4-hour reception for 150 guests works out around 600 drinks. Glassware is the number people underestimate: order roughly 1 glass per drink instead of working from the guest count alone, since a guest who drinks wine at dinner and a cocktail afterwards has put 2 glasses down somewhere.
A toast runs differently. 1 bottle per 8 guests pours everyone a half glass. If the venue washes on site, you can take roughly 25 percent off the glass count, so it is worth asking before you finalise.
Water service sits in this category too, and in a Chattanooga July it is not a nice-to-have. On the pouring itself, venues generally require a certified bartender and do not allow guests to pour for themselves.

Decor here does structural work more than decorative work, which is why pipe and drape and stanchions are the two rows that matter.
Pipe and drape is how you make a big raw room smaller. It closes off square footage you are not using and gives a head table or a cake table a backdrop in a space that offers none. There is no standard sizing formula. Measure the run and give the vendor the number.
Stanchions move people. They work at a check-in table, alongside a bar so people waiting for a drink are not standing in the middle of the dance floor, and around anything you would rather guests did not wander into.

What Your Venue Already Covers, and What It Leaves You
Chattanooga splits cleanly into two kinds of space, and which one you book changes your order more than any other decision on this page.
Downtown and riverfront rooms, meaning the historic hotels and the museum event spaces, typically arrive with tables, chairs and often a bar already in the room. That leaves you linens, glassware and whatever the room needs to look like yours.
Raw space is the other half: city parks, riverside lawns, warehouse rooms and private homes. These leave the host supplying everything, power included. The tables section and the bar section above both send you back to the venue for a reason, and this is it.
Ask for a written list of what the rental includes. It is the single most useful sentence in any venue conversation, because it stops you renting something that is already standing in the room.
The Riverfront Is Changing Through 2027
A section of Ross’s Landing closes from November 2026 for an estimated 18-month build, with the parks expected back around the second quarter of 2028.
If you are choosing a 2027 outdoor date, this matters before you pick a space, not after. Events that would have used that ground move either to other outdoor space or indoors, and those two carry very different orders. An indoor room may already hold the tables and chairs. A different lawn holds nothing at all.
So work out where your event is going first, then price it. Doing it the other way round means pricing a setup for a space you end up not using.
Chattanooga’s Two Comfortable Outdoor Windows
April through May and September through October are generally the most comfortable stretches for an outdoor event here.
July is the outlier. Highs average near 92 degrees with humidity in the 75 to 80 percent range, a heat index that can reach 102, and rain falling on close to 20 days of the month. That is worth knowing once, and then it becomes three practical decisions: shade, a later start time, and the water service already counted in the bar section.
A rain backup should be a specific indoor space on standby with a name and a phone number attached, well ahead of the day.
Two Race Weekends Land Inside Those Windows
IRONMAN 70.3 Chattanooga runs in May and the full IRONMAN runs in late September. Both take over the riverfront and downtown, and both sit inside the two windows above, so a reader picking a comfortable outdoor date can walk into one without realising.
What shifts on a race weekend is hotel availability, traffic, parking and vendor schedules. What does not shift is the cost of a chair.
