3 Unique Downtown Austin Venues - Reventals Event Rentals
  • 3 Unique Downtown Austin Venues

When planning an event, one of the first things you need to decide on is the venue. I am constantly asked for recommendations on cool and unique event spaces in Austin. Lucky for me, there are so many to choose from depending on the size of the event, the type of event, and the vibe you are trying to create.

If you are looking for a space for your next event, check out these three unique spaces in Downtown Austin. While all very different, each of these spaces can be tailored to your specific event – bring in the decor, the lighting, the entertainment, the food, … and you are on the way to creating the very cool and very unique party.

    Sunset Room

Located right next to the Convention Center, the Sunset Room is an airy and inviting space flexible enough to accommodate all different types of events. With 3700 square feet of swanky wood floors and tons of natural light, the space can be used for a cocktail party for 325, seated banquet for 175, or arranged for theater seating for 250. It also has a 3900 square foot adjacent lot which is available as an extension of the indoor space to accommodate as many as 300 additional guests.

If you want to throw a cocktail hour during an event at the Convention center, this may be the perfect solution. The space is so versatile – just rent cocktail tables and chairs, a bar, and the decor of your choice. Since the Sunset Room can operate as a licensed or unlicensed venue and your favorite caterers can be brought in with approval, the sky (or sun) is the limit with this venue.

Banger’s Sausage House & Beer Garden, Austin, TX

If you have ever been to Bangers Sausage House and Beer Garden on the ever popular Rainey Street, you can see why this would be a great place to hold an event. Bangers has several spaces which can be used either by themselves or as part of a whole venue rental: a beer hall, beer garden, basement space, balconies, and deck give you plenty of choice when planning your event.

Bangers’ statement of purpose basically says it all, “The Banger’s family provides a unique and engaging Austin experience to our community through extraordinary food, drink, and Texas-sized hospitality.” For a uniquely Austin feel, let Bangers turn your event into an experience.

    Fair Market

The largest of the three spaces, Fair Market is the perfect indoor/outdoor setting for social, corporate, and community events. Located on East 5th Street, this venue offers 12,000 square feet of interior space and 10,000 square feet of exterior space to host events ranging from concerts to corporate parties to school galas.

Due to the open nature of the space, Fair Market can be used for a wide range of events. It can be partitioned off into smaller sections, used as one giant room, used for concerts with a stage in front, etc. While food trucks are not permitted inside, that’s about the only thing that’s not allowed – airstreams, airplanes, photo buses, and other very large decor/entertainment can be brought in through a drive in loading ramp.

If you are looking for a space that can accommodate very large groups and entertain them all, Fair Market just may be your place.

No matter what your theme, Austin surely has a venue that can both accommodate your event and turn your vision into a reality. There are so many venues in and around Austin and, like these open spaces, they can be transformed into event masterpieces with a little planning, a few rentals, great food and drinks, and unmatched Texas hospitality.
