A cash bar is not, unless somebody licensed is running it. Settle that before you plan the budget around bar takings.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"alcohol-beyond-the-local-rules\">Alcohol Beyond the Local Rules<\/h2>\n<p>Florida issues its temporary permit to a narrow group of applicants. Nonprofit civic and charitable organizations qualify. So do municipalities and counties, and the permit runs only across a short spell of days.<\/p>\n<p>Private hosts are outside that group. If drinks are being sold, the license therefore belongs to a caterer or a venue, so agree at booking whose paperwork covers your bar and who carries the insurance behind it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>One more thing worth settling early.<\/strong> Martin County&#8217;s special event permit applies to activities open to the public, and the county decides whether your gathering counts as open.
